Psychedelics have been known to be very effective in treating anxiety. The mechanisms of psychedelic therapy help the brain create more connections between areas of the brain, making insight easier to access.
People struggling with depression often report immediate relief after a single course of ketamine treatment. This effect for most patients can last for months. It is important to note that the research is clear that the effects are a combination of ketamine and psychotherapy, not either alone. The pattern of preparation, medicine, and integration are all necessary.
Clients suffering from trauma usually have a combination of anxiety, depression, and biologiczl effects of prolongued exposure to dangerous or fear-producing stimuli. Ketamine treatment can assist in reducing the constant feeling of being on-edge. Integration treatment focuses on identifying the environmental, behavioral, or emotional triggers that often start the cascade of trauma effects that many trauma survivors find debilitating. The unique properties of ketamine often help clients find immediate relief from the barrage of demands on their psyche.
Creative individuals have a higher likelihood of belong to a group that includes people who struggle with sensory processing sensitivity. This is not a pathology, but a personality structure sometimes referred to as HSP (highly sensitive processing). These creative people tend to see more deeply and be more profoundly affected by stimuli like music, art, and the emotions of others. Ketamine assisted therapy can help bring some of each HSP's strengths to the fore to help manage the unique demands of living with their level of awareness and the demands that awareness brings to their daily experience.
All psychedelics assist in the creation of deeper connections in the brain. This can be profoundly useful. It is most productive when blended with psychodynamic psychotherapy. This form of therapy uses symbolism as a map to your individual psyche. It examines the contents of your individual psychedelic journey as well as any dreams or connections to creative products like music, film, and visual arts to help make sense of your individual healing and goals.
